◆◆ Rubies naturally have a lot of fissures and fractures. Naturally clean and bright ruby is very expensive and the cost is prohibitive for using it in everyday jewelry. Glass-fill is a technique during which a substance is heated and flowed into fissures in the stone to increase durability. This creates a more transparent, eye clean, and brighter gemstone.
